Answering your enquiry relative to charcoal we inform you that in the field of standardization activities, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) is working on European standards for appliances, solid fuels and firelighters for barbecueing. At this moment there is a European Draft Standard for barbecue charcoal which reference is the following:
PrEN 1860-2 APPLIANCES, SOLID FUELS AND FIRELIGHTERS TO BARBECUEING. PART 2: BARBECUE CHARCOAL AND BARBECUE CHARCOAL BRIQUETTES. REQUIREMENTS AND TEST.
Furthermore and as general information, you will find attached the references of the Published parts of the EN 1860 (adopted as Spanish standards UNE-EN 1860), but not specific on charcoal product.
We do not have other data relative to charcoal standards. For any other information in matter of standardization do not hesitate to get in contact with the División de Normalización
